As part of the LambPlus program in 2019, Sheep Ireland are conducting flock visits to all members of the LambPlus programme. The purpose of these visits is to assist LambPlus breeders in recording accurate data and answering any questions they may have on performance recording their animals. This gives Sheep Ireland an on-ground view of the hard work that LambPlus breeders do all year round. The flock visits kicked started in the first week of January 2019 and will continue throughout the year, with a full time Sheep Ireland field technician on the road visiting flocks all over the country.
While the Sheep Ireland technician is on-farm, they will also take some weights and record health data on animals as Sean has explained in the video below.
