Congratulations to Edmond & Paul O’ Gorman for the nomination as finalists for Highest Achieving LambPlus Flock 2024 award.
There are six finalists across two categories (Highest Achieving and Most Improved flocks), each hoping to take home the top prize.
The overall winners of the FBD LambPlus 2024 awards will be announced at Sheep Expo 2024, during the evening of Wednesday 9th October in the Bloomfield House Hotel, Mullingar.
Edmond & Paul O’ Gorman are one of three finalists for this year’s Highest Achieving LambPlus Flock.

Genetic Trend:
*The rates of genetic gain are calculated annually for the terminal and replacement index to ensure that the genetic indexes are selecting genetically superior animals for the next generation. With the accumulation of large amounts of maternal data and continual improvement in the national genetic evaluations, there is significant scope to accelerate genetic gain across both maternal and terminal traits.
Flocks were selected based on a number of criteria including the genetic merit of the flock based on the Replacement & Terminal Index, the DQI of the flock and the Accuracy of the breeding values within the flock.
These awards are to acknowledge the effort and contribution that these breeders are making to the National Sheep Industry.
