LambPlus Regional Meetings 2014

Sheep Ireland are once again holding five regional around the country throughout November. These meetings will give an opportunity for all farmers (LambPlus and Non-LambPlus) to come along and discuss the Irish sheep breed improvement scheme and to see what the LambPlus service has to offer. Performance recording in Ireland is now stronger than it has ever been at any point in the past which is hugely positive for the Industry and we must ensure that the increasing trend of performance recording continues to ensure we maximize the potential that genetic gain has to offer.

There are a number of changes coming into place this year as the scheme continues to develop and these will all be explained at each of the meetings. One of the big changes for next year will be new recording screens which will be demonstrated each night.

The deadline for joining the LambPlus scheme this year is December 1st, at which stage we need to have the flocks sign-up form, payment and a full list of all the ewes in the flock, including their NSIS (Dept. Tag) no’s.
