Sheep Ireland invites all sheep breeders to join one of five regional LambPlus meetings taking place around the country throughout the end of November and the beginning of December:
Meeting Date | Location | Venue | Time of Meeting |
Tuesday 29 November 2022 | Donegal, Ballybofey | Jacksons Hotel | 7:30 pm |
Wednesday 30 November 2022 | Mayo, Castlebar | The Ellison Hotel | 7:30 pm |
Wednesday 30 November 2022 | Kerry, Killarney | Gleneagle Hotel | 7:30 pm |
Tuesday 6 December 2022 | Kilkenny, Kilkenny | New Park Hotel | 7:30 pm |
Wednesday 7 December 2022 | Westmeath, Mullingar | Mullingar Park Hotel | 7:30 pm |
These meetings will be a unique opportunity for all breeders (LambPlus and Non-LambPlus) to come along and discuss our breed improvement programme, what Sheep Ireland’s service has to offer, and why it’s important to become a member for 2023.
Recent years show a significant increase in the number of LambPlus breeders and we are expecting this to continue, helped by the new Sheep Improvement Scheme (SIS).
Overall, the feedback to date has been very positive from both pedigree and commercial farmers and will endeavour to continue this trend in the coming year.
*Overall 85% of lambs birth notified in 2022 were in LambPlus
Be part of this successful breeding programme, and join the meetings to talk about:
- Why to join LambPlus? The benefits of being a member.
- What’s involved in performance recording for next year?
- Important LambPlus Updates
- Stock Ram genotyping
- LambPlus App
- Proposed DAFM Sheep Improvement Scheme
- Fees for 2023
We will be offering a prize of a €100 genotyping voucher to 2 attendees and these will be raffled off at each meeting, so don’t miss your chance!
