Sheep Ireland is hosting our first ever Hill Ram sale on this Friday the 11th of October 2024 at 7 pm (Manorhamilton Mart).
This is a fantastic opportunity for Hill group breeders who have been making genetic progress in the hill sector over the last years, and an ideal opportunity for Hill farmers to meet the requirements of the Sheep Improvement Scheme.
The 125 rams will be SIS-approved on the night.
This is a Multi-breed Hill sale. We are hoping to have all the main breeds in attendance and have options for everyone. These breeds will highlight the excellent rams being produced on our hills in Ireland.
The catalogue clearly shows the SIS-eligibility.
All rams are also required to pass a physical inspection to gain entry into the sale. During the physical examination rams will be assessed on their mouths, testicles, feet, and any other physical defects. This will give online bidders confidence the ram they are choosing is physically correct. Although the sales inspectors will inspect and reject any ram which in their opinion are unfit for sale, rams should be inspected by the purchaser. Sheep Ireland and Manorhamilton Mart are not liable for the health or fertility of any rams sold.
